Because of Durango’s natural beauty, high quality of life and small town feel, many people have chosen to move to Durango for their permanent home; many others have chosen it for retirement, or their second or third vacation home. Until 2008, the real estate market reflected a long term trend of continued increase in values since the early 1990s. In 2011 we see that the modest decline in values experienced over the last three years has ended in many segments of the market and once again prices are starting to rise; albeit, it more slowly than in the past.
